Reflecting on 2023

On the 30th December 2022, I signed a contract for Unit 2 at Bay Tree Barn. Which, in my very biased opinion, was the best thing I could have done. In hindsight, it was a much bigger jump than I ever allowed myself to think – so this year hasn’t been without stress. I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support I’ve had. I collected the keys in February this year and all of my friends and family rallied around to help me open. We celebrated with the open day on the 13th February and I remember walking down the corridor towards the room hearing chatter & laughter and thinking ‘this is it’.

The aim for this studio space was to ‘have a little rehab gym area, a treatment room and space to run small classes in the middle’ – exactly what we managed to achieve. Every now and then I take a step back and just smile. Watching a class who have turned into friends and are laughing their way through the session. Hearing that the knee you rehabbed just played a whole game of football. Seeing how your client has got SO much stronger in the last couple of months of PT, that life is now just easier. These little snippets make all the stress, blood, sweat and tears so so worth it.

In May, we took on the lovely Azlee as our strength and conditioning coach. The BEST addition to the team. I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found such a great person from the get go. Someone who cares for the business, loves the clients and appreciates everything as much as I do. Everyone always said ‘just remember, when you hire people they just won’t love the business as much as you do’. Azlee has proved you all so wrong!

Accomplishments of 2023:

– Brand new studio

– The addition of Azlee

– Running two regular classes a week

– Completed the John Gibbons diploma – making me a ‘Bodymaster Practitioner’

– 500 overall clients on the books

– 1074 appointments this year with 134 new clients

My aims for 2024 are similar to my personal goals – there aren’t many. Which, as most of you will know, is very strange for me! I’m the person that is ALWAYS looking for the next big thing, but this year I feel content. 2023 has been crazy & I’m looking forward to slowing down and appreciating what I’ve already achieved.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2024.
